By removing the existing roof trusses above the stair landing and incorporating a clerestory with expansive windows, natural light now fills the vertical circulation space. Sunlight reaches deeper into the home, brightening multiple levels and creating a more open, inviting atmosphere.
What was once simply a staircase becomes a focal point that enhances the experience of moving through the home.
Creating Space for a Growing Family

The addition includes:
- A spacious primary suite overlooking the backyard
- A vaulted ceiling accented with exposed rafter ties

Meanwhile, the home’s three existing bedrooms and two bathrooms remain unchanged, allowing the family to expand without disrupting the spaces that already work well.
